Too bad they lost to the Chiefs... took away the prestige for the Giants to end another streak.

A prophetic thread to start way back in September! Good run for the Packers. I didn't think they'd get past the Giants, continuing the trend of NY teams ending undefeated strings. Speaking of which, I seem to recall the '72 Dolphins having to come from behind to beat the Jets something like 27-24.

Here we are at week 15, with everyone having played 13 games. With 3 games to play (@ KC, home vs. the Bears and home vs. Detroit), the Packers should be favored in each game and will be primed for the playoffs with a weekend off during the Wildcard round, which means they might not shut it down too much during these games.
One more win will ensure homefield advantage during the playoffs.
It will be fun to see how far they can take this show - they are certainly in a good position to match the Patriots record of 18-0 heading into the Super Bowl.

i don't think packers lose a game until week 8 i believe. i think they might lose to the chargers. if not there it will be tough to play 2 games in 4 days. (tampa bay week 10 then detroit thanksgiving day)
but glad to be the last undefeated team. feels good to be on top for a change.

Congrats Pack. From here on out you can count on two things. The pressure will mount each week and the teams that play you will all get sky high and begin to play their best game against you.
What I remember from the Pats season was listening to all the sports interviewers asking the other teams how in the world can you possibly think you can beat this Pats team? It was ridiculous the way the other teams were disrespected. Not by the Pats but the reporters. It just pi$$ed everyone off and they played better each week it went along. There were no easy wins the second half of the year.

Hey, hey, hey C.S., on Sept. 9th, I posted Green Bay too. Will they lose a game this season? I still say the last one on their schedule because Rodgers will play about 1-2 series.

And Indy, STL stay winless. Miami probably will also. Next week Indy @ NO, STL @ DAL, and DEN @ MIA. Miami might have the best shot at breaking their streak next week.

Leading up to their big Turkey Day tilt:
Lions-SF, Atl, @ Den., Bye, @ Chi., Car. Packers-StL., @ Minn., Bye, @ SD, Minn, TB
I'd love to see both teams undefeated on Nov. 24, but I can't see that happening. They'll both lose at least one game by then, and I think the Lions will lose first.

Detroit seems to have all their more difficult games at home right now. Chicago last night, San Fran next week and Atlanta. That's huge for them since their fans are so jacked to have a good team finally. Lots of built up aggression.
If they were playing IN San Fran or Atlanta I'd pick em to lose one of or both the next games but at home?..... not sure I can pick against them. Then they have Denver away. I'm thinking first loss to Chicago in Chicago week 10.
But young teams without a lot of experience winning can have trouble understanding it's a 16 week season. There's a tipping point when they go from being the hunter to being the hunted. They won't be sneaking up on anyone any longer. They are now among the hunted. We'll see how they handle it.

Have to wait until tomorrow to see about Detroit.
Indy (0-5) stays winless along with St Louis and Miami on a bye week. Next week IND @ CIN, MIA @ NYJ, and STL @ GB Not looking too good for either of them.

If Detroit were playing in Chicago next week I'd pick them to lose their first game but I expect they will remain in the unbeaten ranks for at least another week. But I don't expect them to make it to their bye week. And yet the schedule doesn't look that challenging with all those games at home. Atlanta just doesn't look as good as I thought they'd be when the season started.

Next 5 weeks: Packers-At Falcons, Rams, at Vikings, Bye, at Chargers Lions-Bears, Niners, Falcons, at Denver, Bye These teams don't play each other until Thanksgiving, which is strange scheduling!
If GB gets past the Falcons, I think they'll be the last team standing. Detroit is good, but young teams tend to lose a game or two that they shouldn't.

Buffalo and Detroit lose after the same number of games 7, both going 7-1.
Side note Minnesota and K.C. last teams to get a win.

And now there are three: What odds could you have gotten on the Bills and Lions? Green Bay is not a surprise, although wins against the Saints and at Chicago are certainly impressive.
Green Bay has a tough one in game five at Atlanta after what should be a pretty easy game this week against the Broncos at Lambeau.
Buffalo has the Bengals in the Jungle this week before coming home in week 5 against the Eagles, which doesn't seem as daunting now as it was a few weeks ago.
Detroit goes to Dallas this week. If they manage to get past the Cowboys, they come home for three in a row against the Bears, 49'ers and Falcons.

Excellent points airfresh about the Pats, BB and Brady. Will certainly be a contender (and likely betting line favorite) each and every week to win. Of the seven remaining teams, they and the Packers are the most likely to get to at least 4-0.

The Pats have Buffalo and Oakland away before they come home to the Jets. Buffalo and Oakland don't look like patsies anymore but I'm thinking the offense will continue to put up the numbers against those two. Their D is not very good right now but is good enough to come home 4-0.
They'll be home against the Jets with some motivation from the huge playoff disappointment. But it will depend on whether their D improves. The team as it looks right now won't be able to compensate for a below avg performance by Brady.
One thing about BB coached and Brady led teams... they are relentless in their pursuit of perfection. Every week is a season onto itself.

Based on the week 3 schedule (and the Philly loss on SNF), the best possibilities appear to be the Patriots, Jets and Lions, although all three are on the road.
Just a note of thanks to my Titans for knocking my prediction out of the water by beating the Ravens! I didn't expect them to win this game even before the season started and expected it even less after last weeks' performance by both the Titans and the Ravens. All in all though, I'd rather the Titans win than my prediction come to fruition!
After next week we are down to between 1-6 teams that will be 3-0.

Well, the NFC South teams were all eliminated from contention in week 1 as they each lost and are tied atop their divisional standings at 0-1.
Meanwhile, in the NFC North, three teams stand at 1-0, with only the Vikings losing. Also, the AFC East has three teams at 1-0 with Buffalo upsetting the Chiefs and only Miami losing a divisional match-up with the Patriots.
The AFC North and AFC South each played against their own division, so had no choice (excepting a tie) of having two teams at 1-0 and two teams at 0-1.
In the NFC East, NFC West and the AFC West, there are two teams at 1-0 in each division, with Philly and the 'Skins both at 1-0 as well as the Cardinals and 49'ers and the Chargers and Raiders, respectively.
With week two coming up, there are only 4 match-ups of 1-0 teams (Raiders vs. Bills, Jags vs. Jets, Cardinals vs. Redskins and Chargers vs. Patriots).

With an abbreviated training camp, and injuries already mounting, I think every team will have at least one loss by Week 8.
Last team left standing will be...the Colts! Just kidding! Packers are my official guess! (Heh, heh! I've already picked them as repeating SB champs! I hope I've now put the double hex on them!)

I don't thing any team in the AFC East or South will get past 2-0.
In the AFC North, if the Steelers get by the Ravens in week one, they have it pretty easy until game 8 at the Patriots, conversely, if the Ravens win in week one, they have it pretty easy until they play the Jets in game 4 and the Steelers again in game 8. The Steelers and Ravens, overall appear to have a pretty easy schedule as the AFC North plays the AFC South and NFC West.
In the AFC West, the Chiefs have the Chargers in games 3 and 7 and otherwise have it pretty easy until they hit a 5 game gauntlet starting with game 10 at New England, home to Pittsburgh, at Chicago, at NY Jets and home to Green Bay. The Chargers are at New England in week 2 and at the Jets for game 6.
In the NFC East, if the Eagles survive to 3-0, they've got it pretty easy to get to 9-0 before having to play at the Giants and home versus the Patriots in games 10 and 11. Conversely, if the Giants get to 3-0, they should be okay until game 8 at New England. I don't think either the Redskins or the Cowboys have any chance of getting to 4-0.
The NFC South has the Saints with a fairly easy schedule, if they can get to 2-0 with wins over the Packers and Bears. They shouldn't be tested again until game 10 at Atlanta. Speaking of Atlanta, they have a brutal first 5 games, so I don't see them lasting. Tampa Bay and Carolina won't contend.
In the Black & Blue NFC North, the Packers have a moderately tough schedule and have as good of a shot of staying unbeaten for a while as any team does. The Bears have tough games in 4 of their first 5 games and with Cutler's inconsistancy, probably won't last that long. The upstart Lions are probably a year away from being mentioned in this topic and the Vikings appear to be in a rebuilding mode.
Out in the NFC West, no team appears capable of winning 2 games in a row, much less tying together an undefeated streak.
With all of this analysis, my pick for 2011 is.... The winner of this week's Steelers vs. Ravens game. That winner will be the last unbeaten team for 2011 and I think that will be the Ravens.
