No cup drivers=no fans in the stands.

Bad idea if you like to watch racing on Fri or Sat... Pull the Cup drivers from Nationwide or Camping World and you can watch the TV and Sponsor money go out the door. Nascar was correct to make the drivers select which series they are racing in. Anything else would implode those two series. I love watching Nationwide and Truck races now because I like the underdog. I would love to see Saddler have some success and win a championship this year!

14smoke- The Nationwide Series is getting attention but for all the wrong reasons. What happens if a Nationwide regular doesn't win a single event this season? Might as well call it "Cup Lite" and be done with it. If I am a sponsor you would be hard pressed to convince me to spend millions on sponsoring a Nationwide regular knowing that my chances of winning or even finishing in the top-5 are slim and none. That's the sad reality of it unfortunately.
frontrowjoe33- Remember the days when only guys like Mark Martin would run 10 or so races a season? Back then guys like Tommy Houston, Larry Pearson and Robert Pressley were the stars of the series. If the Busch Series back then was like it is now we would never have had Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte and Joe Nemechek be able to work their way to the Cup Series. They would have been "also rans" and the Cup drivers would have got all the glory. The problems started when Nascar went from running 6-cylinder engines and started making the series as close to Cup as possible. That's when teams realized they could get valuable information from running on Saturday. That snowballed and now the series is dominated by Cup teams and drivers. :(

If you take the Sprint Cup drivers out of the Nationwide Series, they'll have to go back to running those smaller tracks(which I am not against by the way). The only way the Nationwide Series though, will keep getting the attention it's getting, is when Sprint Cup drivers moonlight in the lesser series.
Heck, the Camping World Truck Series is on the SPEED channel. Not an easy find for a lot of people still.

Both the Nationwide series and the truck series are in sad shape. People used to show up to the races when the Busch series was truly a stepping stone to Cup. Of course they also raced at places like Hickory and Myrtle Beach back then. Nascar got greedy and thought by letting all the Cup guys in and going to huge new venues that the sport would continue to grow. Now with the constant changes in rules and cars and going to markets like Fontana the sport has a hard time even selling-out Cup races.
Nascar made way too many changes and now everyone is paying the price, especially the fans.

So how are you going to get the fans to show up for a race without the cup drivers?
