Sorry for the obscure Hamlet reference. It seems that it killed this forum? I only inferred that Yorick's/Williams' best times were behind it.

Happy New Years all. Deschutes The Abyss Imperial Stout, growler, on tap to greet the new year. Only about 11 weeks (?till) F1 again. And maybe a Grain Belt, chaser, for mckenzi01.

Christmas greetings to all, and Holiday greeting to all.
Sam Adams' beers are great, I haven't had the Chocolate stout tho'. Had the New Belgium Snow Days on draught last night -- very good for a NB. Also as aged LaFolie -- a crazy Belgian sour dark ale. Oh yes, this is an F1 site --
Barrichello thinks ('hints a deals's in place') he may be staying at Williams, though Senna visited Grove this past week. Lots of speculation to get us thru the holiday season.

Great post otto. No deaths since Senna -- but it took Senna's death to really get safety going in F1. Oh, if only Indy would catch on.

Kovalainen needs to score some points in 2012. Renault engines and better engineering expertise should propel him forward. Trulli has always been a better qualifier than racer. I think he's past his prime.
Had a Sam Adams Chocolate Stout last night. Festive.

Glad you agree on the Caterham logo -- I guess the final agreement won't even let them have the green and yellow triangle, and Chapman's initials, or even with the 7? I've read it more than once that the (quality of the) logo will match the team's performance.
I do miss Bitburger on Michael's car -- back then we could get a 6 pack of about 16.9 ouncers cheap. Hooked me on German Pils' and I could back pack them.
Williams does seem like it's in trouble.

Williams has said they still haven't ruled out Rebueno. The team came out and said they gave there drivers a bad car last season.
You don't see Warstiener on single cars much anymore, they seem to sponsor whole races(German Grand Prix a time or two) and whole series.
If the Caterham logo is any indicator of performance then the field has nothing to worry about.

The Bitburger and Koenig Pilsner brands are now owned by the same company. Either would work for Sutil although this piano playing driver may be better associated with a distillate.

Whoops, I thought Capri was a sports drink. I'd rather he go for a German beer sponsor -- Bitte ein Bit? 1994 and 1995 and Michael -- and my favorite of the (ordinary/session) German pils'.

Medion is an electronics brand that is big in Germany. Capri Sun is juice in little packets with straws for kids. You would think a German beer sponsor like Warsteiner would step up.

Seems that Williams has problems with one of Sutil's sponsors. Now that he may not stay with Force India (and Kingfisher) perhaps he could get a good German sponsor? Bitburger -- Konig -- Becks?
And is Capri any good? Versus Red Bull?

Sutil said he couldn't wait till December to hear from Force India -- and it's the 9th -- any rumors? Especially with the seats filling up? Yes, and on the fracas, there aren't any postings anywhere since May. Was the suit dropped?

Does Force India still want Adrian Sutil? He spoke to the press pondering why he is seat less. Reserve Nico Hulkenberg is rumored to get the drive. rumors still persist that Sutil still has a shot at the Genii ride. He didn't speak of Eric Lux, just of wanting to be Kimi's teammate. Never did hear the results of the criminal suit that Lux brought against Sutil. I think Sutil paid medical immediately. Sutil also admitted that he started the fracas and slashed Lux in the neck with a broken bottle. Force India stated they would stand by him until it got to deep. Williams just keeps popping up.

Why would Sutil not stay at Force India? Especially since once he stopped complaining (only what I read) about the Force India car, things went better for him and the car. And he did pass Heidfeld in points. Was he playing the piano when Lux hit him? And finally, where was LH when all this was happening?

I can't see Sutil going to Lotus Renault after the altercation with Eric Lux, the CEO of Genii who owns the team. Williams seems more likely but it probably depends on whether or not he brings sponsorship money from Medion with him.

Adrian Sutil is a helluva Piano player and a pretty good driver. Never struck me as top tier who pushed it to the limit or went for the jugular, except in a night club of course. One of the best of the rest for sure. I had a personal interest in Jordan/Midland/Spyker/Force India, so I always like to see him do well.
Reminds me of Alexander Wurz or Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
Rumor has it he has a shot at Genii Lotus ride. Williams seems more likely. It seems Lotus is on the fence with Petrov, and his mouth might have put his foot out of a ride.
MarĂa de Villota is real close to being a reserve driver for Renault.

Rumor is that Senna is out, Petrov questonable after his venting at crew, Grosjean wanted in by Renault management, and de Villota a reserve seat. Always lots of rumors in the off season, I guess.
Race of Champions in Dusseldorf this weekend with the usual suspects -- Altbier (German ale) country. Wish I was there. Have to stick with my Sticke Alt -- Sleighr' (American) double Alt.

I think Senna is history at Lotus Renault. It should be Petrov & Raikkonen with Grosjean as the backup/ test pilot.

Gosh -- I thought Senna was gone. My totally wild guesses -- Petrov gone (to Marussia to help bring them to midfield by '13-'14). Senna stays. Grosjean tests. Kubica ready by May. We see a picture of SV kissing a camera in December.

If Petrov stays, what'll happen with Senna and Grosjean -- any chance Petrov will go with Virgin/Marussia? Petrov has alot of 'entrepreneurial (?)' money from Russia. I guess since Sochi is scheduled for 2014 he has plenty of time to get with a Russian car?

The second seat at Lotus Renault will probably stay with Petrov. I think he has another year on his contract although contracts can be bought out. Rumor has it that Sutil ends up at Williams and Hulkenberg takes his old seat at Force India.

Raikkonen in at black and gold Renault/Lotus. Wonder who'll be second driver?
I hope next season will be a little more competitive. This one was fun but RBR really did run away with it. Interesting what'll happen with the mid-fielders next year with some of the driver shakeups.

Great season...but of course, I'm a Vettel fan and have been since he filled in for Kubica at Indy in 2007. I hope Raikkonen returns next year. Nothing better than having seven world champions on the grid.

Actually I didn't much care for the race. Very little passing, mostly the old procession except for when one of the mid field cars got to the back and had to work forward some. JB's move on Alonzo was nice. Looking forward to next year, more balance would be helpful. Exactly how good was the RB7 compared to the field? Will SV have a walk over in anything that is close to the field? Time will tell, I hope.

Not to take anything away from Sebbie, he's a gifted racer, but there are more races. He mentioned that in the post interview, so I respect him more. Webber next to him on the front row -- should be fun for the 'following' four.
Tires meant a lot it seems. A big difference. Senna right up there and Barrichello right up there (12). Sure hope he can get a rid next year -- great for us old folks.

Vettel gets a record 15th pole position in a single season at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Though I suppose there will always be the discussion of number vs percentage.

Missed the P's today on Speed -- recovering from T-Day. But did some reading (below) and catching up. I'll try to catch Q's at 8a (decent time). Then the race Sunday. Looks like it'll be fun. Webber's last chance to get a first. Webber got the DHL Fastest Lap Award (?) -- hope it inspires him.
I have terrible MLB withdrawal and now it's almost the end of F1. Need a beer.

Well, off to review the recorded P2. P1 according to the web app went like the rest of the season, Webber good in practice, time will tell if he can produce during the race. JB & LH right behind, followed by SV, who only seems to need to be first when it counts. Then the Ferrari drivers and MS to follow them, with the Force India drivers heading Rosberg. Then some of the teams had temps in the seat and the regular drivers did better except for Senna who was behind Grosjean. Have a good day after!

I am dreading the end of the F-1 season. I hope Speed Channel re-broadcast's the past season again as they did last year. The Brazilian GP will be interesting. My guess is that LH and SV will be battling for the lead. Let's hope I'm wrong. It would be nice if Webber or Alonso won instead.
