desparate times lead to desparate measures..
try cancelling your cell phone, cable tv, get rid of your car payments and get a beater .. all that should save ya about 6-800 a month, then you can feed and cloth your family and afford to pay for your own way to work.

That's not desparate, that's a thief, and the person siphoning gas should have their hand cut off at the wrist.

No. Years ago a friend had his gas siphoned. He put a locking gas cap on and did not tell anyone. The people across the street from him, said I heard you put a locking gas cap on your car.

I did it once on a camping trip when I ran out of gas, but it was a friends car and he was helping me do it so it's not like I "stole' anything.

Nope, I wouldn't want someone doing that to my car, so would never do it to someone else.

Siphoning gas? Here's one for the books ...

Years ago, somebody came up with a spout you could put on the old style oil cans. It had a case-hardened metal tip to punch through the can top - then give it a quarter turn to seal it to the can top. Worked really well as I recall....

Some kids out in California thought it would be a good thing to help them get a few gallons for their jalopy on a fairly regular basis ... apparently worked well for a few months, until the gas softened the plastic parts of the darn thing. Dunno if they were ever caught identified, but they did make the papers for a while

I wouldn't steal. I did siphon as a teen from my dad's car, he said it was okay and laughed when I got gas in my mouth. We have a lock cap and its not the same as old cars.

One of my tenants did it for awhile. He only took about 2 gallons at a time, That way I did not notice it.

Most newer vehicles have a screen in the gas fill tubs and you cannot get a hose in the tank.

Give me a break. This isn't a General Gas Talk issue.

Has swallowing siphoned gas scrambled your mind that much that you posted in the wrong category?

Most cars have anti siphon devices in the tank.... the hose goes in but stops short of the actual gas.
